Warded.

Ive send my ToyoPet to a workshop in meru klang (Racing Hart Garage, RHG) for general overhauling job. I left my house around 2PM and I was surprised that the road was clear (not really, but it wasn't pack with cars like it used to during the day) and its a good thing.

while i was driving i noticed that my speedometer is dead and only left me with my RPM meter. it was not a big deal, but it feels boring driving without seeing pair of arrows going up and down, and i don't know what speed at im moving.

since i dont know how fast i was going i was driving on 5th gear with 4.5k RPM on Federal Highway and i still have lots of throttle, but i didnt floor it due to the car's condition that isnt so good. i think 5th gear with 4.5k RPM is very fast and its very dangerous and the car was very wavy. actually getting to 4.5k RPM on 5th gear is very good for a 20 years old engine.

when i reached bukit raja the rain starts to pour down and im glad it did because i feel like im sitting inside an oven and i was sweating like a pig. Malaysia is very very hot nowadays.

it was a short journey from bukit raja to meru, i waited for the mechanic at the workshop and i have abit talk about what im planning on my ToyoPet and he understand the problems that i told him about this car.

i feel kinda sad when i handed the key to the mechanic. ByeBye beloved goat, see you in 1 week, or mayb few days :P

Obstacle aint gonna bring me down.

I called the workshop that I agreed to send my car for engine overhaul to inform the mechanic that I'm gonna send my ToyoPet today but, unfortunately the mechanic says his workshop is full so i need to wait about a week till the workshop had space to place my ToyoPet, sigh. Still, obstacle aint gonna bring me down I'll wait :D

Introductionary.

KP61 was the second generation of toyota starlet KP series. KP61 is powered by 4k 1.3L engine with K50 5 speed transmission. The KP series was first introduced in 1978 and i think im gonna cut the crap of telling the history of this KP series.

hi, i own a 1984 toyota starlet KP61 inherited/bought from my dad.
at first i dont really like the car that much until i took apart the interior piece by piece to do some DIY wiring job on it i found out this car has an FR layout! actually we can tell its an FR or FF by just looking at he engine position right, wht do you expect? im a noob and i hv lot to learn about this 4 wheeled thing.

after i found out it was a FR layout vehicle i decided to take it for a SPIN.. ahaha and i did do it. i succeeded doing some slides and i wouldnt call it a drift because i got no apex and i cant keep it at the same angle and it also wont rev higher than 5K rpm (due to the worn out 25 years old engine).

KP61 is not as good looking as honda civic type R or anything close to that, its a very old car and it has a class of its own and its better looking than most of your dates im very sure of that.
here is an early picture of my KP61 when i inherit it from my dad.

and now it is much better looking, and it need a serious body work on it.

after doing some google-ing on i found few local forums that support and they discuss about KP61 and all sorts of old-skool cars, this will help me on my project of restoring and maintaining my KP61.

every restoration process on my KP i'll upload on this blog.
and i really wanted to make it to look almost like this 1 :D
