NOV 2011

I had a gearbox problem while travel from penang to KL on november 2011, Whenever I shift into 3rd gear there's a noise and vibration, and it scares the shit out of me. since I was traveling alone that night and if anything happen there's no one to help.

Luckily I'm on my semester break. So I'll have lots of time looking to repair it.

So I went to Mat Jey's and as usual jack the car up and place it on a stand.
I took some photos of the under carrage rusts are everywhere !






I went to my friend's apartment and he showed me he had twin intake Weber DCNF for toyota K-Series engine, and its not for sale. dammit.




Draining Gearbox oil before taking out the gearbox




After removing the screws and mounting the gearbox is out

There's ball bearings inside it, carefull you'd dont want to lose it.






Disassembling SynchoGear and cleaning parts








Change to new bearings




Reassemble Synchro gear and parts








And finally please be careful if you are handling Engine parts or gearbox parts, because the edges are sharp as knife. and i did learned my lesson because my gearbox cut my thumb. it was deep.





after the bearing change my gearbox works perfectly. the problem rises is mainly caused by low level of gearbox lubricant. im gonna check for my gearbox lube often after this.

Sacrificing Comfort for Stability.

On my previous post I bought volvo 240GL rear spring to be fitted to my kambing, thanks to abah hensem for suggesting this kind of setup. very practical and cheap. but not so practical for those who wanted a comfort ride.

I went to Mat Jey's House seeking his help, guidance and borrowing his tools hihi.

I arrive at Mat Jey's around 1130 HRS and below is the original ride height before spring conversion, VERY TALL.




Started first by jacking the car, removing wheels , and place it on jackstand.

LOOK KAMBING TERBANG ! HAHA


Then taking off front absober, and spring, lowering rear axle taking out rear spring all that stuff. Renyah gila keje cmnih. Topmount spring depan degil susah nak keluar.
terpaksa menggunakan kekerasan !

I cut the volvo spring into half of equal length, so I'll have four springs.

here's the picture of the spring placed at the front side, might give you some idea whats the length of the spring



here's the result of the new spring, lower ride height and quite bumpy for city ride
the car is not at equal height, the rear side is lower than the front side. very funny looking.



I bought two pair of spring rubber to increase the rear heights




finally its done, new ride heights is much more lower than the stock height


Extra ring from the spring is cutted and I use it as to imitate Tsurikawa Hanger. hahaa

Volvo 240 GL Spring

Recently I came across a Post on a forum which is about changing Standard KP61 Spring, A very low costs and practical upgrade from my point of view

I directly contact the person who did the spring conversion, his screen name is Abah Hensem he uses 240GL Volvo Spring and he told me exactly what to do and the pros and cons of this conversion.

The best part is it does not require any modification just plug n play. :D

so I went Chop Shop searching for this spring it was quite difficult.



the actual spring colour was black but I kinda have leftover canspay and I spray the spring (konon2 nmpk macam baru la) unfortunately I ran out of spray in the middle of the process so there it is, uncompleted spray progress. buruk kan ? aku tau. takpayah cakap haha. nanti spring ni duk kt tayar gak, bkn ada org nak tngk pun. :p

and I also sprayed my fuel cover into chrome colour maybe I'll draw domo kun on it later on. hehe



and dont mind the hairdryer, I used it to dry the paint quickly

Cable Plug

Last time I bought new sets of cable plug for my Enjin Mesin Tebu now I finally had the chance to install it. (dah bape bulan baru nak pasang apa da)






I just notice that the old sparkplug cable was hotshot brand. tapi sayang nya plug cable tu dah bocor so kena ganti

A brand new plug cable for my Kambing ! hohoho. (takde la rare mana pun barang ni tapi pape la kan)

and its cheap too ! sape2 rasa nak bleh la bgtau ye. hehe.



A visit to uncle Ramly.

I took my kambing to uncle Ramly for the carb to be inspected and tuned according to my engine capacity.

the choke and main jet of the carb was replaced to a smaller ones due to small engine capacity.

sparkplug was replaced too, because my old sparkplug burned badly because of running on very big size of main jet. and it was FREE ! (this is the 2nd time that I changed my sparkplug for free )
